I received these lovely dessert plates from my mom. She brought them to the USA all the way from Ukraine. I remember admiring these plates when I was little and my mom kept them in her cupboard. Every plate has a unique fruit picture, which looks as if from a renaissance painting.
There are five small plates (unfortunately one was broken back in Ukraine) and one big serving plate. The plates where made in the GDR (German Democratic Republic), and since the German reunification took place in 1990, I assume these plates are at least twenty years old. My mom, however, says she bought them back in the 70s. It doesn’t really matter how old these plates are; what matters is that I am very happy to own them now. Thank you, mama.
For the first time, I am joining a blog party. I’m linking to “Show and Tell Friday” at Cindy’s blog, called My Romantic Home. I absolutely love her blog, and I am sure once you see it yourself, you will love it too.
