This year, I don’t have annual flowers in my garden, but I do plan to have some next year. The only exception is my pink petunias. I bought the seeds from a dollar store back in the spring. Whether the seeds weren’t any good or I didn’t water them enough, I don’t know, but I only got two petunia plants out of the entire seed packet. But I must say they are very pretty. I hope my two petunia plants will produce some seeds for the next year.

One morning, on my daily check of the garden, I noticed how pretty my green onions looked with the drops of water on them. I thought I’d take a picture and post it in my next garden report. Green onions grow all year around in my garden, and I like adding them to salads and omelets.
And now I want to show what I recently harvested. The plums come from my neighbors’ garden. Wait, I know what you are thinking, but let me explain ;-)
The tree grows near the fence, so I have many branches on my side. The neighbors kindly let me have as many plums as I want and can reach. So I harvest them liberally. Besides, if I don’t pick them off the tree, the plums will end up decaying on the ground in my yard and that is not pretty. These plums are not very big but sweet and juicy.
The tomatoes and onions are from my vegetable garden. I’m very happy with the tomatoes but not so happy with the onions. I expected my onions to grow bigger. The greens in the basket with the onions are rosemary. I picked several twigs as I was making baked potatoes with rosemary.
And this completes my August garden report. To see what others are growing and harvesting this month, visit An Oregon Cottage for Tuesday Garden Party.

Hi Olga... Your garden is growing beautifully! And you have made a very nice harvest1 You are so lucky to be in such a sunshiney state, because my tomatoes are just little and green still :-( Your pink petunias are beautiful, a nice bright color! Fresh plums Mmmm... lucky you!!

Dearest Olga,
That is a nice bonus to get some plums from across the fence! Your tomatoes look perfect and the onions must have been a small variety. Maybe they're just cute baby-onions as we have baby-squash and such?
The petunia is another riddle... Why? Did they mix in old seeds with a few good ones; hard to find that out. But at least you got something to show! Wish we could have green onions like that in our garden; but poor soil and way too hot. Enjoy all you grow; feel proud for having harvested quite a crop!

I have two fruit trees that go over my fence to my neighbors and gladly have them pick them...in fact all my fruit trees bear so much that I share them with all of my neighbors on the block....and anyone else I can think of so you are doing your neighbor a favor! I think fresh veggies from the garden are the best ever...I have lots of yellow tomatoes this year but I think my red ones are getting too much shade so not as many. I have a ton of yellow peppers too!
My neighbors love my cherry, peach and apples that reach over our mutual fence and I'm happy to share! Enjoy!
Olga, love the photos of the baskets full of tomatoes, plums and onions. My mouth is a watering for some fresh veggies! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Olga, I am envious of your (neighbors:) lovely plums. I planted a tree this year but will have to wait awhile before I have any to pick... what will you do with them?
And, your green onions look terrific! I have them in my garden too and they are one of my favorite plants, not sure why, but I just think they are the cutest.
Loved your pretty flower for today. In fact I would enjoy a few of the onions as well. I like them so much. Thanks for your visit.
Beautiful! Both the flowers and the harvest! Thanks for sharing!
Hello Olga,
What pretty petunias. What a wonderful harvest! I love when neighbors share bounty from their gardens! Next year I will be able to return the favor and share my papayas with them. I have a plum tree but mine is apparently of the non-fruit bearing variety. Oh well, it is still a gorgeous tree!

The pink petunia flowers are really pretty - they must brighten your day every time you see them. Your green onion patch looks great, too! I wish I had a neighbor like yours who wanted to share their tree fruit. Love the look of your beautiful harvest in those baskets.
The petunia is gorgeous and garden looks great also. Unfortunately, we've had such hot weather, unusual here and way too much rain which has taken a toll on the flowers, ruined my hollyhocks. Love your photo with the baskets and I'm so glad to find your beautiful blog!
Your garden is producing beautifully, Olga! And those are Italian plums, my favorite kind for drying- they are incredible and taste nothing like regular dried plums, they are sweet-tart.
Thanks for participating in the Tuesday Garden Party!
What a lovely blog you have. Thanks for the comment on my blog, so nice to meet you.
We have wild plums that grow along the ditches by my home. Several times through the years I have made plum jelly. I love plums....the sweet smell of the blooms and their sugary taste.
as i have said, you are good. i have 2 pear trees, but i admit i'm not good on putting up fruits and veggies. rose
Oooo...plums, my hubby would be in heaven! And your tomatoes look great too!
I'd love for you to join us on Weekend Warriors.
