Hankies with Lace

crochet lace

Two weeks ago I posted about my new hankies with pink embroidery. I promised to show them again once I had added crocheted lace to them. Well, here they are!

hankies with lace

I used crochet thread size 8 and a very thin crocheting hook (I have no idea what size it is) that my father made for my mom about thirty years ago. I didn’t follow any patterns, just experimented a bit and came up with my own. And I must say I am very happy with the results!

I'm joining these wonderful Friday link parties:

Thrifty Things Friday @ The Thrifty Groove,
Show and Tell Friday @ My Romantic Home.

Dear Olga,
You have the talent I wish I had..so beautiful and sweet as can be. Makes me want to live the time when a hankie was a girls best friend..with these beauties, I think it could still be!

Oh, so beautiful! Your crochet edging is exquisite. I was at a tea house last month that had about 50 hankies displayed. Gave me the bug! I have seen that Hobby Lobby is carrying plain ones. I may have to try this. You are very talented.

Blessings,
Pamela

Yours photos are so pretty! I can't imagine how your father must have made that hook! You have invented very beautiful patterns for the lace. So clever!

Dearest Olga,

You did very well with those hankies; your stitches worked out great. Enjoy these hankies, I have made several myself and they become heirloom pieces.

Lots of love,

Mariette

Oh, my gosh, those are so elegant! Size "D" is about as small as I've ever gone on a crochet hook. I really don't like working with tiny thread so I really admire anyone who can do it, especially as beautifully as you have!
