In my previous post I started a narration about my mini vacation in the coastal village of Carmel.
There is one special place there that I visit whenever I am in the area - La Playa Hotel. It holds so many sentiments and wonderful memories. It is the place where I got married!

Unfortunately, at the time of our visit the hotel was under renovation, so these pictures do not fully reflect La Playa’s splendor.
We tied the knot at this gazebo.

After our visit at La Playa Hotel, my husband and I headed to Chateau Julian winery. It was my first ever wine testing experience. Honestly, I’m not a wine connoisseur, so I was not so much interested in the wine itself but rather in all the beautiful architecture and the vineyards of the estate. I greatly enjoyed the tour of the estate and learning about grape growing.

A bit tired but merry after the wine testing, we headed to our hotel, Hyatt Highlands Inn. What a gorgeous place! The views were spectacular, and the people who work there were so welcoming and obliging.
This was the view from our room.

After a short rest at the hotel, we went out for dinner. I don’t remember the name of the restaurant that we had dinner at. But it was a warm and cozy place with fireplaces and great food.
We finished our first day in Carmel with a walk on the beach enjoying the sunset.

Love this area...well, I love most of the CA coast! We have special memories of Carmel, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Shell Beach, SF...still have not made it up to the Fort Bragg area. Gorgeous view from your hotel. So relaxing~

That is special for being back at the spot where you tied the knot!
Love Carmel and its surroundings. I miss seeing my dear friend in Escondido as she always would take us around in the area...
