The linden trees around my neighborhood are blooming! I wonder how I could not notice them there the previous years. There is even one right across the street from my home!
Their blooms are pretty and so fragrant. Bees really enjoy them. And so do I!

Blooming linden brings so many wonderful childhood memories. Each summer my girlfriends and I collected it for tea. We climbed on the trees with baskets or paper bags to collect it. We used fresh blooms to make tea and also dried some for winter use.
I will always remember those fun summer days.

Dear Olga,
This is so interesting. I don't think I have ever seen or smelled a Linden tree. And you can make tea with it? That is awesome. Is it a sweet tasting tea? I wonder how long it take to grow a tree with the blooms used for tea? It must not grow in our zone area. We are zone 5, -10 to -20 F...
Very nice...It's fun remembering childhood memories... I can remember honeysuckles trees!!!!
The lindens here are about to bloom too and I love their scent. We have a Linden St. not far from us, named for the trees lining it - my favourite place to walk the dog. Hmm, didn't know you could make tea from it.

Dearest Olga,
That did bring back lots of childhood memories for me. We had a huge linden next to a 17th century little chappel at the end of our street. Also our neighbors used to have two huge linden trees in front of their home. The seeds are very nice too.
Love to you,
Mariette
How nice that the linden trees bring back such lovely memories for you. I love how the light plays in your first photo!
I so envy you: is must smell amazing in your home! A cup of linden tea with a fresh honey in a comb... delicious!
Yes, that exactly how I had my linden tea today - with fresh honey in a comb from my dad's apiary.
I don't really know how long it would take for a linden tea to grow.
I have never had linden tea or seen one of the trees. How delightful that you have one.
I have never seen or smelled the lovely aroma of a Linden tree...but I do love Linden Tea that I bring back from Turkey. It's one of my favourite.
Hi Olga,
It looks lovely and the fresh honey too!! I have never heard of this and going to be keeping my eyes open for the trees around her !
Hugs,
Bella

What a sweet memories ,i do remember them well.About year ago we brought one in the pot from nursery and at the same time we were looking after our sons dog Murphy ,he decided it is nice stick and eat it .Linden tree will take good ten years to grow in to big tree.I have a CD titled Old Linden Tree with the song Lipa vekovaya, love that song.
I enjoyed hearing your memories today Olga. I really don't recognize a Linden Tree but it must have been wonderful to taste that tea flavour from so many years ago. It sounds like your neighbourhood is a lovely place to live with such beautiful trees growing there.
