Last year I added two raspberry canes to my garden. We didn’t get many berries back then, but this year we are getting quite a few. Every morning I pick a handful of raspberries for my son to enjoy. And he loves them!
I don’t know the name of this variety, but the plant produces berries twice a year – in spring and in fall. Right now there are two floricanes (second-year fruiting canes) and five primocanes (first-year canes that will be fruiting next year), so I expect to get even more raspberries next year. Perhaps even enough to make raspberry jam.

At the same time when I planted raspberries, I planted a blackberry cane as well. It didn’t produce any berries last year, but this year there are several berries on the vine. They are only now beginning to ripen.

In addition to raspberries and blackberries, I have strawberries in my garden. I was lucky to find this terra cotta strawberry pot at a yard sale.

Unfortunately, I don’t have much luck growing strawberries in it. The plants didn’t produce many berries, plus a squirrel got a hold of a few. But those few that we did get to taste were so luscious.

They look so very good. I had raspberry canes years ago at our old house. I miss them!!
Your berries look delicious. I don't have a lot of luck with strawberries either - something always seems to eat them before we get to them!
They look yummy and the photos are splendid. My child's grandmother used to grow a whole hill of strawberries and she was in her 80's then. She let them grow down hill. Hugs♥O
Yum! Who doesn't love raspberries! Your little guy is so lucky! He's also learning about gardening. Love your pictures. I hope you get a bumper crop of berries this year.
Your fruit looks delicious!! I've grown strawberries for several years, but the critters always get to them first. I planted a blueberry bush a couple years ago, but it is growing very slowly!!
We love strawberries in our family. I keep saying I need to plant some and after seeing yours I think I will next year. Love the look of your blog too.
Dearest Olga,
We've had lots of raspberries, blackberries and strawberries but we gave up on it. Too many birds, squirrels and raccoons to feast on them. It was not worth the hard work of pruning, weeding and so on. Too bad since I love them, especially the raspberries. My Dad grew them when I was a little girl and I remember him having to fight the birds... That makes one appreciate more the price-tag for these yummy fruits at the grocery store. It's not easy to get a good and healthy crop year after year. Oh, our friends near Escondido had the most impressive raspberry patch we've ever seen. The soil is good and the climate; that are two big plusses already.
Lots of love,
Mariette
What could be better than fresh sweet berries right off the vine! I can almost taste them now, they look delish!
that good, blackberries and strawberries are delicious. All children should have breakfast with the fruits of these jams!!
I have raspberries, strawberries, black currants and gooseberries in my garden and I love all of them!
Next years you'll have more and more berries!
Love from Spain
Such beautiful photos of luscious fruits! I love them all! Very nice strawberry pot too!
Hello
I loved their raspberries, I also have some planted this year and are producing a lot of good. The strawberries are very beautiful this place was a great idea.
I also have strawberries and also ate some already.
I'm a fan of all red fruit and have some more in my backyard (blackberries, currants).

Hi Olga,
Yum, I love fresh berries too! Your little guy is lucky and I am sure thinks it's fun to grow fruit!! They grow berries in the valley where I live, and we are very lucky that blackberries grow wild here, in the summer, you see people with buckets picking all the time.
Good luck on your strawberries, they will take hold and be abundant!!
Hugs,
Bella
How nice to have berries in your garden. I have a blackberry bush in my yard that I just discovered a couple years ago! Your photos are beautiful.
