Finally, lavender is blooming. I think this year I will not simply appreciate its blooms in the garden but will try to find a practical use for them. I know that lavender is used in soaps and shampoos though I don’t home make those (at least not yet). A lavender sachet or lavender potpourri, however, is something I can make.

Do you have any suggestions for lavender use?

Being in a lavender mood, I cross-stitched this small design. The free pattern is from Madame La Fee. I didn’t follow it exactly though. In the pattern, the lavender blossoms are pointing downward, but I wanted mine to point up, so I turned the bow upside down.
I don’t know yet what I will use this design for. Perhaps I’ll make that sachet. I also have an idea of making a set of cross-stitched cards with summer flowers. We’ll see.

Hi Olga, I admire your creativity. I love lavender, I could smell it from here. It makes a great potpourri. Have a wonderful weekend.
Those are so pretty! I love lavender and I also cross stitch but I never thought to cross stitch lavender! So lovely:)
A lovely work!!!
Hi Olga, your photos and cross stitch are so pretty. I have lavender in my garden, sometimes I snip a bunch and tie it with a pretty ribbon and hang it as a decoration in the house.

I put the dry branches inside the cabinet, I love the smell of this flower !!!!!!
A beautiful cross stitch design. Lavender is a delight in so many ways. Very pretty photos.
This would make a beautiful sachet! I like how you put your own touches on it. I have a lavender sachet that I keep in a linen cabinet. I've had it for a couple of years! I give it a squeeze now and then and it still gives a wonderful fragrance. It repells insects too! Lovely work. Glad to see you still have a bit of time for it!
I have a few dessert recipes on my Pinterest board using fresh lavender that I want to try. I've had it in drinks that were delicious.
Hi Olga - Thank you for stopping by my blog and commenting. I have been thinking of doing something with lavender as well. Mine is almost finished and it would be a shame to through it out. Have been thinking more along the lines of making an oil or extract. Never done it before though.

A sachet would be lovely. I have some lavender. You've inspired me to do something with it!
Lovely. I adore lavender in any form and also are passionate about needlework.
Hi Olga
You are ahead of me, my lavender is not open yet but it's close. I like to bake with lavender in shortbread or add it to a meat rub and of course steep the flowers for tea.

Your lavender is lovely. Mine isn't blooming yet...we had such a wet spring I'm not sure what is going to happen. I found your link at Show and Tell Friday and am a new follower. You have a delightful blog!
Ohhhhh. I can smell it from here. Beautiful!
Hi Olga,
Your lavender cross stitch is beautiful. I know what you mean I have been wanting to do something with mine too. I saw this today and thought it would be an interesting twist to lemonade.

Olga, you are very gud at creating pieces as per season and moods. You rock. I loved the table cloth too much..
How pretty! I like to clip sprigs of it and put it in my drawers. It makes my clothes smell so good!
Love this. Purple is my favorite color and this is just gorgeous.
Olga I like your idea to make your beautiful cross stitch into a sachet filled with dried lavender!
I use lavender in sachets but I mostly like it freshly cut. Heaven!
Love your cross stitch Olga. Love your name, too! Thanks for posting my giveaway!

Hello, Olga!
Your lavender are gorgeous. I love their scent and their beautiful color.
I love lavender. I have a lavender plant in my perennial garden. I love the smell of lavender. I usually make potpourri out of mine. I haven't tried making soap or shampoo from it. I love the cross stitch. Very nice!
This is a beautiful pattern! I too would like to turn the bow around, could you share with me how you did it? Trying to turn the bow around has given me a headache!
