Handkerchiefs with Blue Lace

A few months ago, I bought a bunch of inexpensive hankies with embroidered flowers. I picked different colors – pink, blue, and lilac.

I think a pretty handkerchief can make a lovely little present (especially if it has crocheted lace). So this is what I am working on – adding lace to the hankies.

You can see some with white lace that I crocheted earlier this spring here, and now I have three hankies with blue lace to show you.

The crocheted pattern on these handkerchiefs is different from those that I made before. I experimented a bit and came up with it myself. The blue crochet thread came from my mom’s craft supplies.

Really those hankies are so beautiful. I like borders, it is really very unique and simple but very stylish and best to keep in reception table.

These are just Victorian Lady beautiful! So refined. A gift like this would be sweet, but sweeter still to know a friend made it herself. Lovely displayed against more blue lace.

Those are so elegant! It's a shame we don't have more pretty things in our daily lives like our moms did. I remember wearing white gloves on special days when I was little, and the nice perfumy smell of my mom's handkerchiefs!

You make your own lace? Well, I am impressed! My grandmother used to crochet lace years ago and I thought these days it was a lost art. The hankies are lovely and would make a gift that would surely be treasured. Lovely post.
