A couple weeks ago, I collected and dried lavender from my garden. I asked my blogging friends for advice on what to do with it. After reading the comments, I decided to make a sachet and potpourri.

I cross-stitched a small lavender design earlier this summer, and now I used it for the sachet. I added a ribbon, so I can hang it in my closet.

I used the rest of my lavender to make potpourri. The small rose buds have no smell, but they are pretty to look at, so I added them to my potpourri too.
I have more lavender blooming in the yard, and I am on search for more ideas to use it.

Great ideas for your lavender! Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh, your potpourri looks so pretty, it must smell heavenly! Hugs
I was delighted to find your cross-stitched lavender. I've been looking for a pattern all week and just stumbled on to it when I wasn't looking. Your sachets are adorable and I think I could smell your potpourri. Your photographs are beautiful -- love the one with the lavender in the basket. Beautiful doily.
Joyfully,
Pamela
The dried rosebuds and lavender together looks so pretty! Your sachet is beautiful, and the lace over your basket. I live near a lavender farm and I can't wait to go get some!
Hi Olga,
Mmmm Lavender, mine is just starting, it is the best!! I am going to mix some of mine with roses this year, because yours is so beautiful, thanks for the inspiration!
Hugs,
Bella
Hello
What a coincidence, I'm also harvesting the lavender and let it dry to put in bags, I'm starting to sew.
I also have several roses to dry and then put in bags, they also give off odors, while acknowledging that not all people like the smell of dried roses.
When you're ready I'll put the bags on my blog, but still lag behind.
Manuela
I can almost smell it! beautiful Olga!
Hi Olga,
Wonderful lavender sachet. It is so pretty. A book I have on lavender calls for using it as a Lavender bottle. It's not really a bottle but just looks like one..sort of. It say, Cut long stocks of lavender on a dry day and gather about 20 stems with the flower heads level. Tie the stocks together securly just under the heads. Bend the stalks back over to enclose the flowers. Secure the stems and trim the ends. Can be used in laundry baskets, draws and closets. Wish I could show you a picture. If you want I can scan it and send it to you.
Enjoy your lovely lavender. The basket picture is so pretty.

I LOVE lavender! My plants are a little smaller this year and I'm not getting as much as in years past. I love your sachet -- so pretty!!
Lavender is such a wonderful plant. I love how you mixed in the little rosebuds!

Hi Olga
Your lavender and roses together is so pretty and feminine. The little bag you made would make a good hostess gift too.
Why not use some of the dried buds for culinary uses? You could bake with it, add to lemonade or make lavender sugar as Bella does - check her blog for the recipe.

Sadly, I couldn't enjoy the scent of the lavender because I have no sense of smell. However, I always find it very pretty. Even prettier is the sachet you made. I've always loved cross stitch, but have never tried. You are very talented!
Great job! I hope it perfumes your clothes all the way through the winter.
Dearest Olga,
What a lovely lavender sachet you embroidered! It is perfect to hang in any closet. Smart idea. Also the potpourri is sweet. Did you dry those tiny rosebuds yourself?
Lots of love,
Mariette
