From the Garden to the Kitchen

Just look at these vegetables! Aren’t they beautiful? They all came from my garden!

vegetables in the garden

Actually, what I love to call “garden” in reality is a tiny suburban backyard. It makes me happy to realize that even with so little space I manage to grow tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, onions, and herbs.

It’s great to go to “the garden” and pick a few ripe tomatoes, a red onion, and a bit of fresh basil, then wash and chop everything, add a bit of olive oil, salt and pepper, and enjoy a delicious summer salad.

I love picking vegetables from my garden, and my son loves picking berries. Just when I thought that all the berries were gone, he managed to find a big blackberry and a small strawberry.

Luckily, the raspberry vines are begging to bloom again, so there will be more raspberries for my sonny to enjoy in the fall.

I had to pop over and have a better look at your beautiful veggies! What a beautiful crop! For dinner this evening we had bruschetta (sp?)with tomatoes and basil that my husband grew in pots. You're right. It doesn't take much space. So fun to see your little darling!

Hi Olga, it's so nice to see that you could still enjoy fresh veggies from your garden. At this time of the year, we barely have anything left in the garden. Have a great day.

Hugs.

Dearest Olga,

You are lucky with a moderate climate for being able to grow all these salad ingredients! Cute little boy you got and an eager helper. That is good for making them eat fruits and veggies too, since they picked them with their own little hands.
Have a great Wednesday!
Love to you,

Mariette

Hi Olga
We too have very little room to grow veggies but I managed to grow a few and love the freshness and taste they have. You have a colourful bounty from your little plot and I am happy to see you are nurturing one of tomorrow's gardeners.

What a beautiful bounty your garden gives you! Having a garden of vegetables is so wonderful and so healthy. Your little son is precious and I can see he loves to help his mommy.
I have been away from the computer because I had knee surgery so I'm just catching up. I loved seeing your kitchen rooster...I had missed that post.
By the way,I am a follower but my little icon is missing so I am in a generic silhouette.

Olá

Os seus frutos e legumes estão com muito bom aspecto.
Também tenho os mesmos na minha pequena horta, vejo que temos gostos comuns.
