Gerbera Daisies

I always associate summer with flowers. Sadly, this month there aren’t many flowers in my garden to admire. That means I need to find other places full of pretty blooms; for example, city parks.

In one of them, I found a lovely flower bed of gerbera daisies. I didn’t expect gerberas at this time of year; I thought they bloom in early spring. But I was glad to find them.

As I took a closer look, I noticed other creatures admiring them too. I love this picture of an orange gerbera daisy with a praying mantis.

And this one with a bee is cute too.

Here are a couple more pictures of gerbera daisies. It’s funny how the mantis and the bee chose the most beautiful ones to sit on.

I am joining Macro Flowers Saturday.

Have a great weekend!

Gorgeous gerberas. How special to get a praying mantid on it though.

Gerberas are gorgeous flowers and these are some amazing macros, all of them.
The pink gerbera in the second shot is so perfectly shaped, that it looks almost fake.
Wonderful shots!

Hi Olga, These are beautiful photos!! We don't really have Gerber Daisies here just as an expensive annual. The white is gorgeous it looks so frilly:-) I love praying mantis (we don't have those either), my Grandmother had a screened in porch full of flowers and she always kept one in there to eat the bugs:-)

Dearest Olga,

I did visit your blogs from the bottom up... left a comment on several of them. These Gerbera flowers are all lovely; including their praying mantis and bee visitors!

Greetings from Georgia/USA

Dear Olga,

what a nice face the pink one has, they are all beautiful, but this one is just so tender in its colour. Thank you visiting my blog. Next time I will put a link to your blog.
Have a nice weekend with your family.

Hello Olga

I love seeing little insects on blooms but having a praying mantis is something I rarely see. We don't have them here in Scotland but quite a few bees! Gerbera centres are so beautiful and so are your macros.

Love your praying mantis! Your flower photos are great--you must be very pleased with them. California is such a wonderful climate for growing. How's your veg garden coming along? Jacqueline

Pretty flowers! There is a lull in my garden right now as far as cutting flowers. I should try to find good plants to fill in the gap.

You have captured so many gorgeous blooms!
